Dear Opera Lovers,

Thursday, March 11, 2010, at the Hippodrome Theater in Baltimore, an ample crowd of opera fans and would-be aficionados attended a production of Giuseppe Verdi's Rigoletto presented by Giorgio Lalov and Baltimore Opera Theatre. As a new, developing company, Baltimore Opera Theatre needs help from the community. Last season we were able to present two full scale operas at the Hippodrome Theatre featuring beautiful sets and costumes donated by Teatro Lirico D'Europa, a full orchestra, a professional chorus, plus international soloists from the USA and Europe who have performed with major opera companies around the world. Additionally, Baltimore Opera Theatre was the only local opera presenter to engage local Baltimore musicians.

Being a new company, this was all accomplished without the benefit of an established subscription base of patrons and very little advertising. Your donations will help us step up our marketing so that more people know about us and will also help us to continue to engage local musicians and improve our productions in many ways.
